Two years ago, when I made my last post. Macon, Peyton and I were on the hunt for a new home. On September 6th, 2011. We found our dream home!
When we began our search for our home, back in April 2011, we saw this house, and always debated on looking at this particular home. There were several factors that held us back from taking a look but on this particular day, we decided to go for it. We met with Darrell (the owner) at 5pm, and by 5:15, my mother in law and my father were on their way to look and my 7, we were ready to make an offer! The next morning, I made a withdrawal from the bank, met back with Darrell and signed the contract to make the offer. In two days we were meeting with the mortgage broker and on October 17th, we got the keys.
This house is EVERYTHING we ever wanted in a home. Darrell bought this home as a foreclosure, and he remodeled this home from the ground up. He ripped up a layer of carpet and a layer of vinyl and discovered the home have beautiful hard wood floors that were original to the home, which was built in 1922 and added on to in the 1950's. Then he created a 2nd bathroom to make it a 3 bedroom/2 bath home. He added closets to everyroom and two closets to the master. He painted all the walls with fresh paint. Added new plumbing fixtures, new kitchen cabinets, remodeled the layout of the attic and added insulation. The home has 9 1/2 foot ceilings, and a fireplace in the guest room and a master suite (which we use as my daughters room, because it is the furthest room from the road...overprotective mother).
There hasn't been a day that has went by that I haven't thanked God for giving us this blessing of owning our own home.
I am a Wife to the boy next door, I am a Mom to an amazing 3 year old girl, who is my world! I am a semi-new home owner. I am a Christian, a friend, a daughter, and a sister. A gourmet mom, a dance mom, a good mom.

In with the "NEW"
Two years ago, I decided to write a blog, and I did for a few months and now I am back! I decided to give the page a facelift and decided to change the name. "This is Me and Pea" was a blog about a day in the life of my daughter and I. Now my new blog will be pretty much the same idea but I am going to be adding recipes, gardening and remodeling ideas. I decided to name the new blog "Sweet Southern Comfort" because my daughter is Sweet, I am VERY Southern, and my recipes are comforting. I hope you enjoy my blogs and I'd love to hear your feed back!
